Chamonix Golf Club is not only an exceptional venue for golf enthusiasts. It is also a place for experimentation and biodiversity preservation, in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural environment. Our commitment to nature is reflected in concrete actions aimed at preserving and improving local biodiversity while maintaining the quality of our sports facilities.
Aware of the importance of its role in preserving Alpine ecosystems, Chamonix Golf Club has implemented several measures to reduce its ecological footprint. In this region, where flora and fauna are particularly fragile, every action taken to promote biodiversity counts. The golf course has thus chosen to reconcile the requirements of a quality course with environmentally friendly practices.
One of the Chamonix Golf Club's major initiatives is the sustainable management of its green spaces. Grounds maintenance is carried out using more environmentally friendly gardening methods.
This includes ecological management of green spaces, the elimination of plant protection products, the use of organic fertilizers, and the creation of wildlife refuges with wilderness areas and shelters for small mammals.
The golf course also prioritizes the planting of local vegetation and the creation of wildlife refuges. Wild areas are deliberately maintained on certain parts of the course, providing a habitat for local plant and animal species.
A high-performance irrigation system connected to a weather station regulates the amount of water required for the course daily, limiting overconsumption.
Chamonix Golf Club has joined the Golf for Biodiversity Program.
Our goal: to maintain a balance between playing golf and environmental conservation. We are taking our eco-responsible approach even further, with the ambition of becoming a model for integrating sport, people, and nature.
